Principals Leadership Enhancement And Development Program (Principals LEAD)

REPUBLIC ACT 9155 gave school principals full authority and responsibility for the effective management of their schools.

Program



Principals LEAD Program Conference - a 4-day conference that aims to teach principals how to identify the problems and needs of the school and the community, and revise the standard curriculum to complement these.

The program provides modules on:

1. School- Based Management
2. Instructional Leadership
3. Strategic Planning
4. Letter Writing Toolkit

Principals are responsible for :

• setting mission, goals and targets
• accountability of higher learning outcomes
• introduce innovative methods of instruction
• managing personnel
• fiscal and physical resources
• establish school-community networks

Objectives

1. Improve principals’ school-based management skills
2. Encourage principals to create a vision and mission for their schools
3. Help principals in writing their School Improvement Plans (SIP)
4. Develop principals’ skills in transforming their schools into innovative learning communities

Who Attends?

Outstanding principals from SAS partner schools selected by the Department of Education Regional Director and School Superintendents

Monitoring and Evaluation



Principals LEAD Program Liaison Officers (PLOs) will meet with the principals for the following:

1. School Visit 1 - To follow-up principals on their progress towards achieving their school’s vision and mission.
2. School Visit 2 - To follow-up principals regarding their initiatives towards developing programs that enhance learning.
3. School Visit 3 - To follow-up principals on their management style, as well as evaluate their expectations and commitments.
